Foreign entity or Spanish company?
Plenty of businesses operate in Spain perfectly well on just the foreign-company NIF. Others decide to set up a Spanish S.L. — to have a local footing, to hold shares, or to put staff on the payroll.
A Spanish S.L. has its own corporate NIF, and each director and shareholder will usually need a personal NIF or NIE of their own.
What forming one involves
- Personal NIE/NIF for the directors and shareholders
- A corporate NIF for the company itself
- Incorporation before a notary and entry in the registry
In Spain
